We had a visit from a civil engineer to start off our 'Bridges' topic in style. Ms Gracey gave a very informative presentation and answered many questions before setting a design brief: design and build a truss bridge which will span a distance of 1 metre. Bridges were judged on their aesthetics, the usage (and wastage) of materials and the load they could bear. It was a great morning.
